Welcome to APRAhome.org's Career Tools section. Traditionally, one of the key roles APRA plays is fostering professional growth for those engaged in advancement research.

Whether you are a job seeker looking for challenging opportunities, or an employer seeking qualified applicants, APRA's Job Quest is the best place to meet your advancement research employment needs.

The Peer Advisory Guide is comprised of APRA members who have volunteered to serve as resources to other members. It is available to members through the Member Directory. You may contact these individuals if you have questions or need advice. APRA members identify themselves as experts on topics each year when updating directory listings.

APRA conducted a membership survey in 2005, as it has periodically since 1991. There are plans to repeat this process annually using the same questions to provide accurate comparison data from year to year. The results from the 2005 and 2003 Member Surveys are available through the Member Survey Summaries, and provide data on salaries, budgets, resources and demographics for the profession. The 2001 Member Survey Executive Summary is available to the public.

The APRA Skills Sets were originally developed by a committee of volunteers and formally adopted by the APRA Board in the summer of 1998. An updated and expanded version was developed by another committee and approved in 2005. They have served a variety of purposes, from helping craft job descriptions to better standardizing the expectations of research professionals and creating guidelines for training, development and staff evaluations.
