Eva E. Aldrich, M.A., CFRE, is Associate Director of Public Service and The Fund Raising School at the Center on Philanthropy at Indiana University. Aldrich’s work centers on the development and revision of The Fund Raising School’s curriculum and teaching courses for fundraising professionals. In addition, Aldrich is a member of CFRE International’s Exam Committee, which advises and directs on exam-related issues and develops policy recommendations on exam issues for the CFRE International Board of Directors. Aldrich is pursuing a PhD in Philanthropic Studies from Indiana University.

Jessica Balsam is the one-person prospect research and prospect management shop for The Evergreen State College in Olympia, WA, where she has implemented a prospect tracking system. Prior to joining Evergreen, Balsam was the Manager of Development Services at Tacoma Art Museum in Tacoma, WA, where she undertook a major database overhaul to improve the museum’s ability to track donor giving and interests. Before founding HBG in 2002, she established and directed advancement research departments at Northeastern University and at the Harvard School of Public Health. Brown serves as special advisor on fundraising for the board of the North American Foundation for the University of Manchester, England, is a Fellow of the Royal Society for the Arts and a member of the board of directors of Factary Ltd. Sarah Parnum Cadbury is the Director of Prospect Research at La Salle University. She enjoyed redesigning the University’s prospect management system and she and another researcher are heavily engaged in pro-active research. After working in research at World Wildlife Fund and the National Parks Conservation Association, she appreciates having an alumni base to work from. She was the President of APRA-Metro DC and also served as their Membership Chair. She came to MSKCC in the fall of 2006 from Columbia University, where she was a research analyst and writer for the University’s corporate and foundation relations office. She has also served as an events manager for Columbia’s principal gifts group, and as a grantwriter at Arts Horizons, a small arts education agency. Diane Crane became the University of North Texas’ Campaign Director in Fall 2007 after serving as Vice President for Development at Cook Children’s Health Foundation, where she oversaw all development operations with an emphasis on building a major gifts program. Deborah Derringer serves as the Manager of Prospect Research and Relationship Management at the Hazelden Foundation. She oversees prospect identification, qualification, and research, works closely with gift officers on prospect development strategies and portfolio management, and collaborates with her advancement services team members to develop systems that enable efficient and effective fundraising. Her initial foray into prospect research came as an undergraduate work-study student at Macalester College, and involved a great deal of rubber cement and paper files. She went on to work in the annual fund and in gift administration at Macalester, and began her professional career in prospect research at the University of Minnesota Foundation. Prior to joining Hazelden in June 2008, she developed the prospect management system and acted as a one-person research shop for Catholic Charities of St. Paul and Minneapolis, one of the largest providers of social services in Minnesota. Derringer has presented on like subject matter at APRA-MN as well as Blackbaud's Conference on Philanthropy.

He joined the University of Pennsylvania in 2004 and serves as Senior Executive Director of Development for Penn Medicine—a $3.6 billion enterprise comprised of the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and the University of Pennsylvania Health System. In support of Penn Medicine’s current $1 billion campaign, Mischler leads a team of 46 and provides strategic leadership for the institution’s three flagship hospitals, clinical and basic science departments, and interdisciplinary centers and institutes. He has been a featured presenter on medical development, individual and organizational giving, and faculty development. Paul holds professional memberships in AHP, AFP, and CASE and received his BA from Allegheny College.

Barbara Moore is the Director of Development Research for Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, one of the leading cancer research and care centers in the United States. She oversees all prospect research activities in support of Dana-Farber’s current $1 billion capital campaign and leads a staff of seven. Moore joined Dana-Farber in 2001 and has served in her current position since 2004. She has over 12 years experience in fundraising and membership development. Maureen Morgan is the Director of Development Data, Research & Analysis at PENN Medicine where she manages a team of six researchers and two report analysts. Prior to joining PENN Medicine, she managed the research and prospect management program for the University of Pennsylvania Law School and served as a senior researcher at The Wharton School. Morgan began her fundraising career more than 10 years ago as a grant writer and researcher for WHYY, a Philadelphia-based public broadcasting station. Poonam Prasad is Founder and President of Prasad Consulting & Research, a New York City-based consulting firm that is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. The firm has provided board and staff training, advanced research, audit, major gift, capital campaign, and publication services to more than 100 local, national, and international nonprofits. Prasad is on the faculty of NYU's Center for Philanthropy and Fundraising and is a much sought-after trainer and presenter at industry conferences and seminars. She is President of Women in Development New York (WID-NY) and a member of the Foundation Center Consultants Network. Previously, she was a member of the Executive Committee of the Greater New York Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP). She initiated the first Research Track at its annual Fundraising Day New York Conference (the largest one day conference on philanthropy in the country) in 2000 and has coordinated it every year since then. Prasad also served as a member of the APRA international board during which time she launched its Virtual Seminar series.

A former front-line fundraiser, Rob Scott has worked for two decades in the field of higher education fundraising and is a member of the APRA Board of Directors. For the last seven years, Scott has worked at MIT, where he has managed systems and processes comprising the information infrastructure for resource development and institutional fundraising efforts. Troy Smith is currently the associate director of prospect research at Wake Forest University. His previous experiences at institutions large (Arizona State University Foundation) and small (McDaniel College, in Maryland) included ambitious prospect identification efforts and multiple database screenings. At the ASU Foundation he helped lead a prospect identification and assignment process that tripled the number of prospects under assignment. Zumaya, Armando

Armando Zumaya has been in fundraising for 22 years in a variety of roles that have given him a unique perspective on development offices, prospecting and role of research. He is currently the Chief Income Development Officer for the American Cancer Society. He has spent the bulk of his fundraising career as a Major Gift, Leadership Gifts and Annual Fund Officer on two $1+ billion dollar campaigns at Cornell University and the University of California, Berkeley. He is well known for his work in teaching prospecting, solicitation, cold calling, major gifts techniques and remote constituency fundraising. He has been a tireless advocate for improving the Prospect Researcher/Fundraiser relationship and creating a prospecting culture inside development teams. Recently he served as the Director of Development at the San Francisco Opera for over 2 years where he directed the refurbishment of their major and planned giving efforts. He is currently the Director of External Relations at the Springboard Schools. At Springboard, he is starting a new development team in the new area of K-12 major gifts fundraising. He lectures at AFP, APRA ,CARA Compass Point, Forum for Fundraising and Academic Impressions. He consults part time with a range of clients from small non-profits to major universities especially focused on prospecting, electronic screenings, new donor and board development.
