With uncertainties in the current market, the field of data analytics has become more important and necessary for many organizations, particularly in the area of prospect identification.

Previous recessions have shown that donors tend to stick with their existing charities during times of economic uncertainty. While donor acquisition suffers, renewals can stay strong and even increase. Efforts within data analytics to score existing donors for potential upgrade are even more critical than usual. At a time when fundraisers need to contact more and more donors to raise the same amount of money, the ability to identify and prioritize donors in large numbers from within the existing donor pool is greatly prized and required.

Whether you’re a newcomer or seasoned analyst, the APRA Symposium on Data Analytics will teach you how to implement solid analytical strategies to enhance your organization's fundraising efforts.

Tracks Designed for Newcomers through Seasoned Analysts

Introductory Track
The introductory track will provide a solid grounding in the goals of, methods for and approaches to data mining in an accessible format. Participants will leave the conference with the ability to ask penetrating questions to guide critical data review and understand how it can be applied to prospecting databases and support their operational goals.

Advanced Track
The advanced track will present case studies of effective applications of data analytics, such as statistical methods for prospect identification, management and modeling. Practical applications of these methods will be showcased.

Both tracks will present examples drawn from real-world problems facing many organizations and use fundraising data. Sessions will rely heavily on the practical applications of skills and concepts to development challenges, especially in the current economy.
