This program is designed for directors and managers of prospect development, relationship management and advancement services. It is also for fundraisers and other development professionals interested in understanding prospect management and incorporating its principles into existing fundraising programs. Other nonprofit professionals who are interested in exploring systematic ways to effectively manage prospect relationships within their database to enhance fundraising will benefit from this event as well.

Special Program Update
The Relationship Management Special Program scheduled for October 2 has been cancelled because of extenuating circumstances. Attendees who have already signed up for this luncheon will receive full refunds, and all attendees will have time to break for lunch during the day's sessions.

About the Faculty

Diane Crane
Diane CraneDiane Crane became campaign director at the University of North Texas in Fall 2007. She previously served as vice president for development at Cook Children’s Health Foundation, where she oversaw all development operations with an emphasis on building a major gifts program. For nine years, she was a consultant with Bentz Whaley Flessner, where she worked with clients throughout the United States in higher education, healthcare and the arts. Diane began her development career in 1989 as Director of Prospect Research at Texas Christian University. She was the founding president of the Texas APRA chapter and served on the national board of directors for six years; she chaired APRA’s 2000 conference in Anaheim.

Chris Pipkins
Chris Pipkins has been the director of prospect research at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA since 2000. He has been in the profession since 1997. In his current position, Chris developed a comprehensive prospect information and management system that was integral to the growth of a major gift operation at JMU. Active in APRA at the national and local levels, Chris has presented on topics such as campaigns, prospect management and benchmarking and serves on the editorial board for Connections. When he is not looking for spreadsheet zen or googling for instant karma, you can find him reading, exercising, enjoying the arts or walking his big, brown dog in the mountains of the Shenandoah Valley.

About the APRA-AFP Partnership

The success of fundraising is the result of hard work and collaboration among a talented team of development professionals. As information and data collection become more specialized and sophisticated, the need for professionals to come together and assess results becomes increasingly important. APRA and AFP are holding this joint event with the goal of creating a whole even stronger than the sum of its parts.
