Session Description
Most of the wealth in the U.S. is created by private companies, yet private company officers and owners are among the most difficult prospects to research. This session reviews basic issues related to estimating the value of a private company, the tools available for private company valuation and how to turn the results of your estimation into an ask amount.

Speaker Biography
David Lamb has been a prospect researcher since 1989. He has served as the Director of Prospect Research at the University of Washington and Santa Clara University. He is a Prospect Research Consultant with Target Analytics, a Blackbaud Company (www.blackbaud.com/targetanalytics), custom data modeling and prospect research services. He holds a bachelor's degree in sociology from Sterling College, a master's in sociology from Wichita State University and a master's of divinity from San Francisco Theological Seminary. In 1997 he received APRA's Service Award for outstanding service to the profession; in 2001 he received CASE's Steuben Apple award for excellence in teaching.
