This presentation will define relationship tracking, its theory and practice at the University of Florida — one of the nation’s largest universities. The relationship tracking system coordinates the cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of the University’s constituents and enables development officers to manage individual caseloads and demonstrate their accountability. This system at UFF allows officers to create an online action plan for a prospect and to monitor progress through that plan.
The prospect management staff at the University is responsible for training all officers on the proper use of the relationship management system both in theory and its practice via the database and for the data integrity of all information entered by development staff into that database. To that end, weekly, monthly and quarterly reports are run to monitor prospect identification, cultivation and solicitation as well as track each development officer’s progress towards professional goals. The presenters will also discuss their theory of relationship tracking and how they implement it with their officers.
