On occasion and as needs arise, APRA will make a statement on a controversial or emerging issue that pertains to advancement research. These position papers will serve as statements of APRA's stance on such issues, or to offer some level of clarification so as to facilitate appropriate action from members, other professionals and the public.

Subject areas will be germane to the mission, vision, philosophy, values and the strategic initiatives of APRA. Experts will prepare formal statements. The APRA Board of Directors will review and approve the final papers.
