Keep up with Connections.
Highlights of the Spring 2008 issue, themed “Electronic Screening: Chance and Choice,” include:

  • Peter Zeimet’s take on the ins and outs of successful electronic screening in his article, “Successful Electronic Screening: Who, What, When and How”
  • An Electronic Screening Roundtable featuring Valerie Anastasio, Karen L. Greene and Dorry Kelley that answers everything from how to select an electronic screening vendor to what to do with the results of the screening
  • David Eberly’s article about screening electronically in different environments, titled “Doing More With Less: Electronic Screening in the Hospital Environment”

The Summer issue of Connections, set for publication in June, will provide a thorough look at choosing, creating and implementing prospect rating systems as well as a preview of APRA’s 21st Annual International Conference, April 20–23 in Denver.

Get a glimpse into the mind of conference keynote speaker Arthur Brooks, PhD, a Professor of Business and Government Policy at Syracuse University and author of more than 100 articles and books about the connections between culture, politics and economic life. Brooks’ APRA-focused address, “Why Giving Matters,” will lay out the evidence that giving — and, thus, effective fundraising — are important sources of strength and vitality on individual, community and national levels.

About Connections
Connections is APRA's journal of scholarly articles about advancement research, management, and other fundraising issues. In November 2003, during the APRA Board’s Strategic Planning retreat, a decision was made to make Connections available to members electronically for 2004. A task force led by APRA Board member Pam Patton, with considerable feedback from APRA members, examined the future direction for Connections during 2004–2005 to determine how APRA can best augment the publication and make it more meaningful and useful for the membership. A newly updated Connections has been relaunched. APRA Board member Lisa Howley led the effort on this project, and David Eberly is continuing her efforts for the APRA Board. Past issues are available online in the Member Resources section.

A subscription to Connections is a benefit of membership dues. For more information about becoming a member of APRA and receiving this valuable benefit, click here.
