Description:

Open data is free, publicly available data that anyone can access and use. Such data can be valuable to Prospect Development, but only if it can be integrated into existing data sets. In this session, attendees will learn and discuss techniques to find appropriate external data sources and match information to internal data. The session will also discuss various uses for the data. Outside sources to be discussed may include the Federal Election Commission (FEC), the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), the American Community Survey (ACS), and real estate data from Zillow.
