Come Out of the Shadows: Develop Pipeline Status and Projection Reporting Procedures Based on Knowledge, Not Fantasy

Track: Relationship Management

Session Number: 1103
Date: Thu, Aug 9th, 2018
Time: 1:15 PM - 2:45 PM

Description:

Do your fundraisers keep solicitation plans on Excel files on their computers instead of logging them in your database? Do you struggle to get pipeline numbers for projection reports for your board? Do you find yourself “fudging” the numbers?

Implementing a practical and comprehensible pipeline reporting and proposal status process not only leads to accurate pipeline projections and board reports, but helps fundraisers stay focused on major gift strategy and is an integral part of good prospect and campaign management.

You’ll learn useful tips for creating proposal, pipeline and projection reporting no matter which database you use at your shop. We’ll discuss best practices in pipeline and solicitation reporting; common-sense proposal stages and how they tie to the donor cycle; prospect to gift percentages that effect projection reporting; and how to plan and conduct a pipeline review meeting. Examples of reports will also be presented and discussed.

So eliminate those shadow databases!! End the guessing game!! Challenge yourself and your organization to do better than life in the shadows.
