Time: 1:45 PM - 2:45 PM

Description:

How can the structure and organization of the Prospect Development team impact the value it delivers to the rest of the organization, and strengthen successful partnerships with fundraisers? This session will address key organizational design choices which guide relationships with fundraisers: a centralized or decentralized team structure, the integration or specialization of research and prospect management roles, the creation and rationalization of standard products and services, and customer/client service philosophies. The use of tools such as APRA’s Body of Knowledge, time study, and qualitative research techniques will be included. With the reorganization of Prospect Development at the University of Rochester as a case study, the presentation will include the participation and perspectives of a fundraising unit leader, and how to strengthen mutually beneficial relationships.
