    Ethics and Professional Standards

One of APRA's primary organizational initiatives is to define and advocate the highest standards of performance and ethical behavior by those engaged in the profession. This section provides official APRA-approved statements and guidelines for meeting these standards.

As issues arise that impact the profession, this is the place to look for timely perspectives and guidance for the responsible conduct of advancement research. If you wish to reprint any of the materials in this section, submit a completed Request to Reprint Copyrighted Material form.

The APRA Ethics Committee embarked on a project in 2014 to create guidelines to assist prospect research and development professionals in writing a statement of ethics and confidentiality for their own organization. The goal was to create a usable tool that translated APRA's view of prospect development ethics into practical use.

These guidelines are designed to help each organization develop a tailored system that will ensure the confidentiality and security of information and materials involved in the work of development professionals and the organization/s for which we work.
