403 Part 1: Sorcery to Science: From Sixth Sense to Data Driven Culture How an Advancement Team Managed Change and Built Relationships across the Organizational Chart

Track: Partnerships, Leadership and Change Management

Session Number: 403
Date: Sat, Jul 29th, 2017
Time: 8:30 AM - 10:00 AM

Description:

Presenters will share the tactical planning involved in implementing change from an intuitive process to a honeycomb structure that established Prospect Research, Management and Data Analytics as fundamental to the standard fundraising cycle used by Development Officers (DOs) in their efforts at securing gifts.

In this session, attendees will hear how a public university’s advancement team secured changes from an intuition-based immeasurable structure to well-defined procedures supporting a new “honeycomb” fundraising cycle. The result was better communication across divisions, transparent reporting and metrics driven portfolio management that enabled a seamless switch from Raisers’ Edge for Development to Raiser’s Edge NXT.
