311: Spinning Relationship Webs to Find and Reinforce Connections

Track: Prospect Research

Session Number: 311
Date: Fri, Jul 28th, 2017
Time: 1:45 PM - 2:30 PM

Description:

Organizations strive to attract dedicated, influential Board Members and Trustees, and relationships with these important people are often cultivated over years. When so much effort is put into developing strong ties with these people, it makes sense to capitalize on the strength of these relationships to bring in new prospects. Gift officers work hard to cultivate relationships with existing donors, but unless there is a current connection, they might not be able to meet with the best potential prospects. This presentation provides suggestions for making the most of relationship webs in order to find connections to new prospects and discover additional connections to existing prospects. The presentation will also include examples of how relationship webs have been used to great effect at Johns Hopkins.
