DAS 4A: Powerful Fundraising Insight through Data Visualization

Track: Data Analytics Symposium

Session Number: DAS 4A
Date: Wed, Jul 26th, 2017
Time: 2:15 PM - 3:00 PM

Description:

As data become increasingly abundant, yet fundraiser time and attention remain scarce and valuable resources, how do we equip teams with key insight without overwhelming? Data visualization can be a powerful solution, but it requires a clear objective and careful design to transform it from merely interesting to truly actionable. The presenters will share their successes as well as lessons-learned, drawing on a variety of case-studies from Portfolio Management, Pipeline Management, and Annual Giving. This presentation will focus on concepts and design rather than technical implementation, and will cover best-practices and examples that can be adapted to a variety of organizations. Attendees regardless of role will learn how to identify business needs that may be prime candidates for data visualization.
