Board service is a unique way for members to give back and to help shape the future of the association. Apra's members are its best advocates — and you have a chance to make a difference in our association.
Nominations for the 2023 – 2024 Board of Directors are now open! Complete the nominations form to recommend a colleague or yourself for a director position on the board by Tuesday, February 21, 2023.
You may nominate as many candidates as you like. Please submit one nomination per candidate. Remember: You must renew your Apra membership for 2023 to be considered for a position on the Board of Directors.

The terms for director positions for the 2023 - 2024 term will begin September 1, 2023.
Qualifications
Candidates should have a demonstrated ability to lead others, a track record of committee or other volunteer services, an interest in the field of fundraising and philanthropy as a whole, ability to communicate effectively (in person and/or through writing) and reliability in following through on commitments and meeting deadlines.
Additionally, board members will be called upon to advocate for the prospect development community and industry as a whole.
Requirements
Nominees must meet the following requirements to be considered for a Director position:
- Be a voting Apra member in good standing;
- Have been an Apra member in good standing for the 12-month period preceding the nomination;
- Have worked at least three years in prospect development.

In addition, candidates are required to submit a candidate statement, candidate agreement, resume and references by Tuesday, February 21, 2023. Once a nomination is submitted, we will follow up with confirmation and information on the submission materials.
The Nominations Committee will review all nominations received by the deadline to determine which candidates to advance to an interview. Interviews will be scheduled on either Monday, March 20, or Thursday, March 23. For interviews, candidates will have the ability to request accommodations, as needed.
After interviews have been conducted, the Nominations Committee will determine the final slate of candidates that will be presented to Apra's membership in April. Each position will be elected directly by the membership.
