East Coast stuffy and old. West Coast wild and crazy. We will challenge assumptions and compare giving trends and philanthropic differences between the U.S. coasts. We will look at giving tendencies and explore donor passions, including political giving, impact investing, and entrepreneurial philanthropy. We will walk through demographic profiles of donors to study trends and explore topics such as gender, ethnicity, and intergenerational philanthropy. Through understanding donors and giving trends and the philanthropic make-up contributing to these differences between the East and West coasts, we can apply principles to our work, including effectively crafting prospect strategies and proactive research techniques.
