Description:

Frequently just knowing a prospect’s past giving and wealth capacity is not enough to know the depth of their relationship with an institution. In this session, attendees will learn techniques to measure donor and friend engagement (e.g. volunteering, attending events, committee membership etc…). The presentation will highlight how to view the prospect relationship as an interplay between past engagement versus past giving. In this presentation, the attendees will learn about the process that the University of Iowa Data Analytics team went through to develop a score for measuring engagement. The attendees will learn techniques to build and evaluate a measure of engagement, and how to use an engagement score as a tool for decision making and goal setting.
