To set the foundation for this presentation, the presenter will go over the importance of strategic planning and time management in a small research shop.

This presentation is a case study demonstrating how The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) is addressing this issue at its research shop that consists of one person with some assistance from student interns. Having a proactive approach and organizing projects has been key to address the prospect research needs of the University effectively.

First, the presenter will cover key points to develop a proactive schedule that will help surface new major giving prospects including setting goals setting and tracking research progress.

Second, the presenter will go over how to balance multiple tasks by setting priorities and timelines.

To conclude the presenter will go over maintaining good research practice and, short and long-term benefits.
