Moving Past Pyramids: A Data-Driven Approach to Lifecycle Analysis

Track: Vendor Sessions

Session Number: 2180
Date: Fri, Aug 2nd, 2019
Time: 11:45 AM - 12:30 PM
Room: Grand Sonoran C-D

Description:

Many now consider the traditional fundraising pyramid to be a relic of the past, irreflective of the real composition of most organizations’ donor populations. But the idea that all donors have a journey to go through holds indisputably true. The problem with the old pyramid is that it lends more to prescription of a donor’s journey than to identification. Not every donor journey is a linear ascension in giving level. The goal of modern fundraisers and researchers should be to follow each donor’s progression and facilitate an outstanding experience at every stage of the donor lifecycle.
The old giving pyramid offers a simpler world view, which makes it inherently attractive. But modern technology and analytics have made a more dynamic, lifecycle-focused approach attainable for organizations of all sizes. Join Blackbaud Target Analytics for a look at how this paradigm shift can be driven through strategic deployment of AI, research, performance analysis and benchmarking.
