High-Level Review and Case Study: A high-level analysis of the gift acceptance and due diligence controversies in 2018-2019 and recommendations on how organizations can address the issue. In addition, the presenter will show an example of how to write and implement a due diligence and gift acceptance protocol, based on her experience leading the prospect research due diligence update project at the University of Chicago. This presentation will walk through the process of analyzing institutional processes and values, writing a policy, getting feedback and buy-in from stakeholders, and implementing it.
