Global philanthropy has grown as the world becomes increasingly connected economically and socially. So too, has interest in international prospect research among nonprofit organizations. This session will provide a peek at the work of the UK-based RIF (Researchers in Fundraising) Prospect Research Handbook Project on the subject of international prospect research strategies.
Ben and Betsy, two committee members on the project, will open the session with a brief survey of the opportunities and challenges in pursuing an international prospect research strategy. They will highlight the need to differentiate international and domestic research and develop cultural literacy and understanding. They will share practical tips and information on international research resources and touch on the nuances of international research in different parts of the world.
