This year’s Data Science Now Challenge was focused on developing year-end donor retention and mail solicitation strategies for a hypothetical nonprofit’s annual giving team. Join Paula and Joseph from the University of St. Thomas as they walk us through their submission in which they identified trends in donor retention and upgrade potential; utilized SQL, R, Excel, and Oracle APEX to prepare and analyze data; applied several giving-focused scoring techniques to segment prospects; and developed a solicitation strategy that sought to maximize potential impact and available budget.
