Data Science Now

We’re pleased to present Data Science Now, reimagined from the Data Analytics Symposium this year to become a collection of high impact virtual sessions. Topics address all aspects of successful data science integration in development offices, including best practices, project design, resource utilization, and cutting edge applications. The event draws leaders in the field of fundraising analytics to discuss theory, method, and implementation of data-informed fundraising.

What Does Registration Look Like? 

Before the Event

Register early to take advantage of these pre-event engagement opportunities that will kick off in September 2020.

  • Membership to the Data Science Now Community including a discussion forum, resource material, and session recordings.
  • Access to the attendee list to establish connections and networking ahead of the live events.

During the Event

Live opportunities via webinar and other virtual tools will take place between 10:00 a.m.CDT and 4:00 p.m. CDT on Tuesday, October 6 and Wednesday, October 7, with a mid-day break to keep up with your daily life. 

After the Event

Attendees will have continued access to the Data Science Now Community and access to all of the course recordings

Who Should Attend? 

Fundraising analytics professionals, prospect researchers interested in fundraising analytics and development professionals who want to understand how to leverage data science in their office.  

Education Will Focus On:

  • Identifying key needs and research questions, and generating buy-in from stakeholders.

  • Methodologies, tools, and resources for conducting analysis and creating data-informed strategies and products.
  • Roll out, implementation, adoption, and evaluation of data science programs.

Programming is intended to foster a collaborative networking environment so attendees may share experiences with peers, establish new professional contacts and gain insight to help them improve their work.

Apra's education is curated by and designed for prospect development professionals. Get to know your 2020 chair, who will be guiding the education this year to make sure you get the quality education you can put to work. 

Emma L. Hinke is a director of data science with BWF specializing in analytics and implementation. She provides prospect development consulting, research and analytics training, and counsel in performance metrics and portfolio optimization. Prior to joining BWF, Emma was the lead data scientist in prospect development for Johns Hopkins University, where she worked with development leadership and fundraising units to create analytical solutions that add strategic value to fundraising operations.

Emma is a recognized leader in prospect development and analytics, and highly regarded as a thought leader through her service to the Apra community as a past program chair, speaker, and president of the Maryland chapter. She received her bachelor’s degree in applied mathematics from Rochester Institute of Technology.
