Frequently Asked Questions

After careful consideration of the current health situation, Apra has made the tough decision to cancel the in-person Prospect Development 2020, August 4-7 2020, and offer Advance Tomorrow: The Prospect Development Virtual Experience in its place. If you have a question not answered below, please contact Apra Headquarters.

Why did you wait until now to cancel?

Apra leadership has been monitoring the situation and recommendations from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC), the World Health Organization (WHO) and local government officials in Washington, D.C. The Board of Directors recognized that the developments around COVID-19 were changing significantly each day. Apra does not take this unprecedented decision lightly. Apra and our leaders are committed to providing environments that will be healthy and safe, and with this in mind, the most responsible path forward was to cancel this year’s in-person event.

When will we learn more about the virtual event?

Continue to check this page and our website, as we will be adding more information as it becomes available.

When will we learn more about registration information for the virtual event?

Registration for the virtual event is now open! We will not be one-day registration.

For groups of three or more from the same organization, a discount of $30 per person will apply to the third and subsequent registrants. The first two registrants must pay the full rate (early or regular). Please contact registration@aprahome.org after completing your first two registrations to receive instructions on redeeming the discount on your third and subsequent registrants. This offer does not include registrants receiving a discounted or complimentary rate.

I’m already registered to attend Prospect Development 2020, what happens to my registration?

All registered attendees will automatically be registered for Advance Tomorrow: The Prospect Development Virtual Experience. Full conference registered attendees will have the opportunity to add two (2) complimentary registrations for team members or colleagues in your firm or organization that would benefit from this timely content. Alternatively, attendees can receive a refund for the difference in registration. More information about registration options will be shared in the next two weeks. NOTE: This only pertains to those who previously registered for the in-person event.

Will optional events be part of The Prospect Development Virtual Experience?

All registration fees for Pre-conference sessions and Executive Leadership Cohort optional events will be automatically refunded to the original form of payment. Due to the nature of the virtual format, both of these optional events have been canceled for 2020.

Apra Fundamentals: Prospect Research and Data Science Now optional events will be held separately from PD and will be hosted virtually. If you registered for one of these for the in-person event, you will automatically be registered for the virtual event. You will receive a confirmation of your registration for the applicable event via email once registration is live. Data Science Now will take place Tuesday, October 6 – Wednesday, October 7. Apra Fundamentals: Prospect Research will take place across a series of webinars the week of October 19, with access to an online community and learning modules in early September. More information and registration details to come.

What if I would like to cancel my registration?

We are confident that you will be impressed by the lineup and opportunities presented through Advance Tomorrow: The Prospect Development Virtual Experience and look forward to sharing more information in the next two weeks. However, if you’d prefer, you can cancel your registration today. Cancellations received in writing by Monday, June 15, 2020, will be refunded to your original form of payment. No refunds will be given after Monday, June 15, 2020. Please contact Apra registration to cancel or make changes.

What about flight and travel arrangements made for the canceled in-person conference?

All attendees need to contact their own airlines/travel insurance companies to understand their policies and whether flights can be transferred and what penalty fees, if any, may apply.
