Rapid wealth increase in Asian countries has boosted Asia-Pacific's population of high net worth individuals. According to Wealth-X, most Asian metropolitans saw double-digit percentage growth in their ultra-wealthy population in 2015.

Meanwhile, U.S. institutions have increasingly received gifts ranging from annual fund to multi-million level from donors based in Asia. It is critical for prospect researchers to be able to identify, evaluate, and generate strategies upon Asian donors. Yet other than published rich lists, the comprehension of Asian wealth and how to qualify a major gift prospect remains obscure, and the field contains multitude of different cultures to consider. In this session, the presenter will provide an overview of the vast and varied wealth landscape in East and Southeast Asian countries; discuss how information is discovered, evaluated, and speculated upon; and provide insights on evaluating gift capacity of Asian prospects.
